What ever it takes to keep him. This year he knocked at the door of being one of the best. Next year, well, he may just be the best. You never know.

But this time when we purge our cap it'll be a good thing.

How is cutting Dave Stewart, Kam Wimbley, and Chris Johnson not a move in the right direction?

We should not be 4-12 in 2014, thats nuts to think. If Munchak was here ok 4-12 book it, but firing him is addition by subtraction, we're already better with him gone.

McCourty is a prototype CB though, Verner isn't.

However because of inflation it might happen. But I doubt we'd be the ones paying him $8M/yr

Verner has gotten better and better since the day he set foot in Nashville, and I think he can still be better. Usually he's the wrong kind of guy to pay, but his knack for sniffing out where the ball is going is amazing. I'd gladly offer him $6M/yr but I think he could get more somewhere else, and will do exactly that.

McCourty will shut down a #1 receiver most of the game, allowing minimal yardage but not really making any flashy plays either.

ATV may make some flashy plays, but he also gives up much more yardage and gets penalized more often. He is not a shutdown corner, and he'll only get paid by us if they want to start overpaying for talent. But seeing as our past hasn't worked out very well for us, that may not be a terrible thing.
