No question, I agree 100%. Flacco had something special happen in the right year, and that's really what it comes down to. Losing Lewis and other pieces is going to hurt them big time. That team doesn't win without being one of the best defenses in football.

His cap his is under $8M this year and not bad next. It's effectively a 3 year deal and then will need to get reworked.

    2013: $6.8M
    2014: $14.8M
    2015: $14.55M
    2016: $28.75M
    2017: $31.15M
    2018: $24.75M

Have you seen Flacco's interview today? There is no way he's going to rework that deal, all he cares about is the money in this deal.

If the Ravens were smart, they structured that contract where they can release him after 2016 and not owe him anything else beyond that.

    Otherwise, they're screwed.

I wonder what will happen if Flacco wins another ring. It'll be Eli all over again. People having to come to grips with the fact that a guy who they believe to their core sucks has 2 rings that they can't explain.

    He won't win one again.

That was one of the flukiest Super Bowls ever... fitting that it be the Ravens.

Only thing fluky about that game was those lights going out. That swung the momentum and allowed the 49'ers to come back. The ravens are one of the best run organizations in the league and also one of the best drafters. They have a great coach and the core of their offense is 28 or younger.

Their defense is on the older side but they already started shedding some of those old guys and have young guys like Ellerbee, Cary Williams, Jimmy Williams, and Lardarius Webb who are up and comers. Don't be shocked if they make it to another championship game. With the Steelers declining I expect them to be a perennial play off team.
