Keyshaun is an incredibly egotistical pariah and there's a reason he keeps getting bounced around the league, he's like a poor man's T.O. without the production. With seven young wideouts on the team a "throw me the damn ball" attitude is a cancer we couldn't afford. God the thought of him on our squad was such a distraction I'm relieved to finally start concentrating on other more interesting things like how the Hope, Griffin, Harper, Lowry, Pacman, Finnegan backfield could very well be a dominant one come playoff time.

just what i predicted would happen.

no way was he going to come to a team that's not a super bowl contender.

and he doesn't help the team that much.

I'm just glad it's over so we can stop talking about Keyshawn........and make a new thread about him everyday.

Keyshawn didn't do much last year. The numbers would have you believe otherwise, but everyone expected such great things. "Oh! Now the panthers have Johnson to team up with Smith! They'll be deadly!" And all we heard were crickets.

VY is not a conventional passer, so he is not going to have WR's beating his door down to play here. Most of those guys are on incentives for yards, catches, etc....and it's not going to happen here. Fisher is a run the ball first kind of guy, then VY is going to pull it down and run a lot also....so WR's aren't exactly a huge part of our plan.

Fielding a roster could be a chore this year.

    well put

there was no overall benefit to either VY or the Offense long term
in fact ,it would have forced our hand at making some tough decisions regarding the group for a guy who might not play more than 2 years

    3 - 3rd year guys
    3 - rookies
2 - recent FA aquisitions in Gage and Givens
3 - (others) in Oor, Ross and Solomon

    11 guys , 6-8 slots available .... don't see a spot for Key

I dont think you can put the blame on Key for the panther's ofensive woes for last year. Jake Delhomme played very poorly and they have no running game. It was much more Jake's fault than Key's. Yeah, SMith still put us good #'s, but that is Steve Smith.

Anyone else but me having a hard time believing ESPN is paying Keyshawn $3.5-$4 mil a year?

His agent implied he'll get more at ESPN than the Titans offered him.
