They've been running a hybrid. You don't think he learned ANYTHING from DLB?

lol of course he did, but so does everyone around the league

you dont need to have a guy in house to learn from DLB, everyone models their 3-4 around his system

As long as we have a plan for post DLB, and it's doesn't waste talent we've picked, I'm fine with it.

I think its foolish to marry ourselves to DLB and his 3-4 when you look where we ranked in total defense

get best players, match system to their strengths..

Having someone on the staff, working currently on gameplans and understanding the personnels strengths and weaknesses would help, especially if they were clued in on as the go to guy when DLB hangs em up, instead of an outside guy that might want to transition the team away from what we've been working on.

We literally have no one who couldn't make the switch back to a 4-3 should we end up doing that, Im not worried about keeping things the same, we arent a good 3-4 defense

Maybe Williamson is the odd man out, but hes not good enough to worry about keeping

All of the teams except NO that you mentioned need a QB before a CB or S! Most of them also need an EDGE rusher!

What's wrong with Jones at CB?

There is a good chance Jets, Buff or Ariz are our trade partner and whichever trades up is trading up for a qb most likely (except NO). I think this is WHY JRob needs to land a good CB in fa so it doesn't FORCE him to a take a CB with our first pick. I would not be shocked to see us trade back to 10-13 range and then end up with something like Corey Davis and OJ Howard or Njoku and address cb in round 2 or even 3.

This is why I strongly suggest we go HARD for Ryans as a #2/slot/play anywhere in the secondary and another top level CB. It gives us a lot of flexibility in the draft and there aren't really any wr's to write home about in free agency but there are some good cb's and HOPEFULLY...Eric Berry!

And I'll be surprised if Cam Robinson goes in the top 15. I don't even have him rated as a first round OT...though I expect he may go in the back half of round 1 because there are precious few good OL players in this draft and a LOT of needy teams...like the Seahawks and Giants!!!

Davis+ Howard/Njoku would be an insane injection of explosive talent to our offense. even though I would love that draft, I don't think JRob goes offense back to back.

I don't see any scenario that Cam Robinson lasts past round 1, because like you said @Gut there are just very few if any elite OL talents in this class.
