Ya, but boxing really, really sucks. So comparing it to something that bad, yes, I guess it isn't too bad.
Not sure if you're aware... but... Difference is... one sport requires thicker gloves so they don't kill each other.
Silly DW again. Boxing gloves are there to lessen the blow to the opponents head so that fights last longer. It's likely to proven that is more dangerous than knockout blows but I digress... Gloves in UFC are only there to protect the fighter's hands so they don't break them. UFC is the tougher punches, it's tougher fighting, it's a tougher sport, and it's more realistic gauge of a person's true ability to win a fight.
Tougher punches? lol A boxer punches you- and you can die. A UFC puncher punches you... meh. You realize most MMA guys are guys that didn't cut it in boxing, right? Hands were too slow, reactions too slow, etc? (hence the overabundance of unathletic white guys?) Tougher sport? Tell that to anyone that has actually boxed for more than 3 rounds. Isn't that how long a UFC fight lasts? 3 rounds? A most of that is laying around on the ground dry-humping? They don't even fight out of stuns. The moment a solid punch lands they wave the fight off. It's silly. More realistic to a real fight? Sure. And if I want to see similar- I'll go watch drunks at a bar roll around. An MMA fighter can fight in real life. A boxer can't. One gets arrested for assault with a deadly weapon. The other doesn't. Wonder why? A boxer ends a street fight in .3 seconds. An MMA fighter rolls around for 2 minutes. Just don't like watching "regular joes" when watching professional sports.
This guy has a point. I find them both to be very boring to watch, so I don't. But as far as a punching match, no question boxers are better punchers. If boxing were ever as fun to watch as a Rocky "fight" Then I'd watch every time. UFC just doesn't appeal to me, and I've tried to like it. It's just not exciting to me.
