Back in April when we selected Griff with our first round pick I wasn't sure what the FO was thinking. Now that the season is over I'm more than happy with the pick. In 11 starts this season he recorded 52 tackles, 1 forced fumble, and 3 interceptions. Last season in 16 full games Lamont Thompson recorded 73 tackles, no forced fumbles, and 3 interceptions. If given the full season to start Griff could have easily surpassed Lamont's production. He was worth the first round pick IMO.

The Griff is also great on special teams, he had like 8 sp tackles in a game before, and did some returning

He's definitely got a lot of improving to do still, but he's a rookie and doesn't play like one. So, thus far he's looking like a great pick, and I hated, hated, the pick on draft day.

Speaking of Thompson, sounds like he had the run around as usual against the Texans.

On draft day, I said "what?", but then it hit me, we drafted LT's replacement, and from that point on I couldn't have been happier. I don't know why none of us predicted it. None of the analysts did, but tons of people on here had been complaining about lamont for years... I'm not saying it was the only improvement in our defense this year, but I'd say it was a big step. The other being the production of our front four.

the best part about griffin is you can see him getting better each game. i remember his first few starts he was very hesitant filling against the run and even coming up and hitting receivers. now he's starting to pop people and making plays in coverage.

If he started at safety from the off, including preseason,he could of been challenging Willis for defensive rookie of the year, maybe even a shot at the pro bowl. I'm predicting 100+ tackles 4+FF and 7+ picks next year. Book it!

I have been very happy with the Griffin pick, but too, at first, had a "WTF" moment. About the only other rookie we had a chance at that I would reconsider drafting is Dwayne Bowe. I think he could have done very well here this year. Nonetheless, I feel we lucked out with Griffin. That pick really could have gone much worse if you stop to think about some of the picks people wanted.

Griffin was needed. No doubt, and made several game changing plays. Almost had another against the Colts.
