INDIANAPOLIS Guard Steve Hutchinson is scheduled to make $4.75 million in 2013. Offensive lineman Eugene Amano is scheduled to make $3.94 million in base salary, and quarterback Matt Hasselbeck is in line for $5.5 million.

The Titans are expected to ask Hasselbeck to take a pay cut. Is there a chance they could trim some of the other higher-paid players off the roster?

General manager Ruston Webster, without naming names, said the fate of some current Titans could hinge on moves made in free agency.

“We don’t have to cut anybody for cap. We are not in that kind of situation fortunately,” Webster said. “Now if we improve on a guy, or find somebody better than a guy we have, then there could be cuts. … It might be as we sign guys.”

    God Webster is dumb.

Just because we have cap room, doesn't mean you don't have to cut someone (who sucks) to clear up more cap room.

Don't be mislead by his words, thats what you say in February, as the season closes in, he'll change his tune.

He's just being politically correct here.

They said very similar stuff last year too regarding Shaun Smith, and like we all saw coming, his butt was cut.

The thing that worries me about Amano is that Munchak might be too loyal to him and push to keep him.

Normally I'd agree, but its sink or swim for Mike this year. He can't afford to be loyal to a scrub player.

I mean the owner of the team fired the No.2 man in charge because he didn't tool a talented enough team. If Munch wants to stick around, there's no more being nice. Best player will play, and that can't end up being Eugene Amano, because he sucks.

Would like to see them keep Hass. Locker is still too green. It is good to have a vet on the roster to mentor him.

Rework Hasselbacks deal. Set to make 5.5mil, would like to see around 3.5mil.

Hutch should just retire. Cut Amano & Hawkins.
