    Some more news regarding O'Brien

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports Penn State coach Bill O'Brien is "high" on the Texans' wish list, and that the sides are planning to meet in the near future.
ESPN's Adam Caplan confirms that Houston has been "doing work on" O'Brien this week. It's a bit of a surprise, as NFL head-coaching experience is believed to be near the top of owner Bob McNair's list of criteria, but O'Brien has proven his bonafides as an NFL coordinator and college head coach. At the very least, O'Brien is going to get another fat raise out of his latest dalliance with bolting State College.

I'm a Penn State diehard, almost as much as the Titans.

I don't get the fapping over O'Brien. He got outcoached badly by Indiana and UCF this year, and Ohio last year. His halftime adjusts are terrible. He has lost to Nebraska twice because he was slow to adjust. He let the clock run out at the half in close games with the ball in scoring position and time outs left at least twice in games he lost. He went for it on 4th down while in easy field goal range when down by 3 in overtime. Etc, etc, etc.

He is an intense guy. He is supposedly a great X's and O's guy, but he isn't a good game coach.

But is he better than Munchak? The answer is yes because no one is worse.

    These were all recent.

With that said, he has done a fantastic job with his quarterbacks at Penn State. I'd love to see Jake Locker show the kind of improvement that Matt McGloin showed between his Jr. and Sr. years at Penn State. If he is the quarterback whisperer that he seems to be, that probably makes up for not using his timeouts.
