I'm remembering a 7-9 Seahawks team that went to the playoffs in 2010 and won a playoff game against the defending super bowl champs.

    It's something.

I enjoy being a fan and watching my team. I enjoy it more when we are winning. The #1 objective of any team, any team is to continue on to the post season and that is our goal. Once you get there anything can happen and many wild card teams have won it all.

Had we signed Peyton Manning we could be a true super bowl contender but we didn't. You hope for what you can get and that's all you can hope for. Can't get those 6 losses back.

The fact that you can make the layoffs with an 8-8 record and will likely make it at 9-7 puts more pressure on Munch and the coaching staff.

Did the Giants win it all in 2011 with a 9-7 record? And one of the teams they beat in the playoffs was the 15-1 packers?

This coming draft has depth at QB's who may be good. I hate losing but I'd rather have a shot at a QB who can win for the next decade or more than creep into the play off's by winning a mediocrity contest.

Getting a franchise QB is a lottery even if you have a pick high enough to choose one. That's waht we need though. A great QB can keep a team competitive for years. We have great talent on both sides of the ball and we're under achieving with.

Only coaches we have who are worth a dime are Ragone (he was awesome as WR's coach),Munchak (as O'line coach) Rocker and Greg Williams.

The roster is good, the coaches are not getting the best out of them.

If we'd signed Manning he'd have been killed behind last seasons O'line and his salary would have crippled us at the time.

That is a lot of mental gymnastics that doesn't address the point I made. Higher draft pick equals MORE choices. It's that simple and doesn't require fake math. And that is helpful when rebuilding. How helpful depends upon the quality of a team' s scouting and player development. And the Titans simply haven't been great in either of those areas.

What is offensive to most is the idea of intentionally losing. I find the idea unpalatable. But often bad tasting medicine is necessary to get better.

Personally, I'm not advocating intentionally losing as much as I am advocating that we re-direct our goals toward LONG TERM improvement. Immediate winning is a lower priority. It will take a DRASTIC shift in our current team make-up to foster an organization with a "team-first", "winning" culture. It will require benching some of our non-productive starters to play younger players. It will require replacing our "revered" coaching staff with others who are more innovative and whose major qualification is NOT a former tie with the franchise. Winning simply is a lower priority in those goals. Playoffs this year are only attainable if we win out (or lose once more) and/or get a lot of help. And this coaching staff has had enough time to demonstrate they are not able to meet their own self-declared goals.

So let's stop attempting to hide the elephant in the room with "math". That is offensive to Kappa Mu Epsilon. I hope clarifying where I'm coming from on this will at least decrease the unnecessary inflammatory rhetoric.

I agree with you riverman and I will add this point: It does not matter where we draft because our coaches do not know how to evaluate talent. I just want changes in this coaching staff and you will see things become a lot better.
