Im not mad at all, I have such low expectations for Kenny that he can't disappoint me
That's the thing though. Kenny Britt, the millionaire NFL wide receiver, shouldn't be living by "the code of the street". He's not some poor kid stuck in the ghetto for life. Absolutely no excuse for him not cooperating with police. I don't see how anyone can justify it with any kind of "ghetto code" excuse. Absurd.
the guy obviously doesn't take his time off the field serious, so why should I take him serious?
because he's gotta keep it real, dont you know?
I read the story. He's guilty of no more than attending a party and taking an injured man to the hospital. Kenny doesn't even know the men who started the fight. It's all right there in the story. You can choose to ignore it but it won't make it go away. For now, these are the facts we have and everything else is conjecture. I didn't get on any high horse, I made an observation about you based the way you responded to me. Keep in mind that you decided to insult my intelligence without provocation.
Also, I never said police are bad people. I said that sometimes talking to them can make you a suspect or you may be hurt/killed by people who think you may have helped the police. There are documented cases of police being unable to protect informants/whistle-blowers the fact that you cast this aside is what caused me to think you lived a privileged life. People who don't grow up in underprivileged areas are usually resistant to the fact the cooperating with the police may put you in danger.
Kenny isn't even my favorite player so it's not like I'm in the tank for him. If other news surface which implicate him then I'll change my tune immediately, however that has yet to happen.
It's sad seeing this kind of talent and opportunity being pissed away by a moron like Britt. I have no doubt he's going to be one of those guys who's flat broke a year or two after his playing days are over. And I won't be surprised in the slightest if he ends up in prison, or worse.
I think the excuse is that he doesn't want his brother to get killed.
...or maybe he geniunely didn't know the guy.
1. If he's seriously concerned about his brother getting killed, he has enough money to move his brother out of Jersey.
2. If he didn't know the guy then there's no reason for him to be uncooperative with police.
He absolutely won't be traded or cut. He has no trade value and his salary for 2013 is only $1.4m.
This hurts Britt more than the Titans. There is zero chance he gets a long-term extension this off-season.
However, the repeat of these incidents does impact the Titans planning in some ways. A healthy and dependable Britt (who we have yet to see) is a true #1 WR and they would undoubtedly consider using the Franchise tag on him next season.
If the Titans can't trust Britt to avoid situations that may lead to him being suspended (or worse), then draft picks or Free Agent money that could have been spent upgrading other roster spots will need to be used at WR.
Is anyone really going to be happy if we miss out on Andy Levitre because that cap space was used getting a free agent WR as insurance for Britt?
I absolutely hate hate hate to say this about Kenny bcuz this event is nothing, but when he was coming into the league before we drafted him I said this guy was not good for football. He hung out with Rod Smith first first of all. he's not even a football fan. Kenny is only here because he's a big tall guy who can get to a football. he truthfully doesn't give a flying you know what about anybody. he can't be counted on and he's going to be a out of the leage very soon. he's just a bad apple lol
