Just taking a shot in the dark here but I don't think Matt Ryan has either. Okay he has missed it once but you see where I am going with this? The players around them have made them look better than they are. I'd hesitate to say Flacco has never missed the playoffs and think its more accurate to say that Flacco has held on while they went to the playoffs.

And for the record I think my point was pretty obvious as well.

Your point may have been obvious, but it was also dumb. Saying that you wouldn't want Joe Flacco on your team is dumb. The guy is in the top third of NFL quarterbacks. He's the kind of player you would want on your team. He is in no way Trent Dilfer or any other game manager. He is a very good player.

You're entitled to your opinion, but surely you can see why people like me would disagree with you here.

This is the only forum where people will argue for Flacco and Eli Manning.

    Amazing.

You're silly to say that, go find a Ravens forum or Giants forum, they'll argue they're elite to you, thats amazing.

Here we mostly call it like it is, and whether you like it or not those 2 are both 2nd tier QB's, and thats damn close to elite.

I was even considering Ravens and Giants forums. I still think even they'd be honest when talking about their QBs. Maybe not...

They're average QBs with amazing teams around them. They've been seen as the weak spots on their teams for quite a while.

What I was trying to say was, it doesn't really matter that Joe Flacco 'has never missed the playoffs' ... that is an indication that he has been on a good team, not that he was good.

You put Joe Flacco on a team without Ray Rice, Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, etc and he probably misses the playoffs more often than not.

Truth is, Joe Flacco was not in the discussion for being an 'Elite' QB until this playoff run he went on (unless of course you asked Flacco himself). But before that he wasn't much more than a game manager.

But I am not doggin' on the guy, he is a good QB, I just thought that the arguement "he went to the playoffs every year so he must be good" was no more relevant than saying that Dilfer was good cause he won a SB.

I do think Flacco is a 2nd tier Qb though, good but not elite. He still could become 'Elite' I guess, but he will have to prove it over the next year or 2 before he can be considered it.

You can spin that the other way too you know.

Ravens D is not what got them to the post season.

Honestly I like the approach the Ravens took to developing Flacco. They put him in early as a rookie so he could get used to the NFL game, but made sure the rest of the team was strong and didn't rely on him to win them games ... now that he has got a few years under his belt, and has been developed the right way, he is ready to start really taking the reigns of the team.

I hope that is what we are trying to do with Locker right now.

Not this year, but most others it is ... if you say that 'Flacco has been to the playoffs every year, so he is good' then you are saying he did it every year. Most years it has been the Ravens D and running game that got them there.

I will admit that Flacco is the reason they won a SB this year, but he has developed into that player over the years. He hasn't always been the guy you rely on like that

I'm not anti-Flacco ... I think he is a good QB, but lets not act like he came into the league as some great QB cause he didn't
