I think Pollard's comment says as much about Griffin as it does about Reed. Reed is not known for his tackling skills, but his plays on the football. Griffin sucks at tackling, but if he has the chance at making a play on the ball he is actually pretty good at it. Just don't ask him to tackle anybody.
However, if you have a SS who can clobber people and a ballhawk for a FS that usually is a pretty good combo. Griffin was unfortunate the last few years that our SS were probably the worst in the NFL.
Let's see what Michelle can do this year.

Reed is a great tackler. He's just not known for making tackles because of all his picks.

He's a hard hitter too. Most don't realize that though. I'm sure there's a highlight reel on YouTube of him knocking the piss out of guys on the reg.

You know what you're getting with Griffin. He is best and playing center field and making plays on the ball! He is not a hard hitting/sure tackling safety so don't expect him to be. Pollard will take that role and will allow for Griffin to go back to playing Center field which he is best known for!

Well if receivers around the league are smart they will go down when Griffin hits them because that slow down to break his tackle puts them in Pollards sights and I know who I would want to tackle me between those two.

Not so sure about that. But we will see this season, since he is a Cow now.

Well at least I got confirmation that it's not just us being "homers". Griffin is absolutely getting slaughtered in the Bills scouting report from last years game.

They actually evaluate him to only be competing for a backup position with the Bills, ouch.
