Is it true with the HD add on the 360 will have cost more than a ps3?

That is pretty cool. If you can add an external HD to the PS3, then you could get stuff off of it as well.

Sweet. PS3 is doing things. As usual, microsoft sits on their arse and hopes all goes well because they're popular.

    I asked this myself
theoretically, it would be possible to do this trick with a firmware update of some sort - most likely in a disc form and not via the Internet

Realistically, this is probably going to be a new SKU
if you read the article, he mentions "we're going to need a hell of a lot more than 80GB or 120GB of storage to make that thing useful for HD recordings."

I'll go out on a limb and say that this will be a new 200GB Ps3 SKU
and I'll bet it'll be expensive ... especially in Australia

    speaking of the Xbox360 HD-DVD device .....
Microsoft has dropped the price to $179 + 5 FREE Movies (+the included King Kong) .... last night it was $149 @ Best Buy - but they raised the price back up to $179
    http://www.engadget.com/2007/07/26/xbox-360-hd-dvd-player-now-just-179/

    the 5 free movies are

    A
    Apollo 13
    Seabiscuit
    The Chronicles of Riddick

    B
    Casablanca
    Constantine
    Dukes of Hazzard

    C
    Four Brothers
    Lara Croft : Tomb Raider
Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow

    D
    The Rundown
    Blazing Saddles
    U2 : Rattle and Hum

    E
    U-571
    The PErfect Storm
    We Were Soldiers

you choose one from each group

    not a bad deal
wish there were some better choices
@ BB (when I Went to check on this), they have about 5 times as many Blu-Ray titles as they did HD-DVD titles :p

    I came up with
    Riddick
    Constantine
    Sky Captain
    Blazing Saddles
    U-571
(oh) and the included King Kong in the box

I already own most of them on DVD, so I might not do this
but for someone with no HD DVD / BR unit
and none of the aformentioned movies, this sounds like a great deal

It is almost as though Sony is wanting to develop this into their Media Center PC that happens to play kick-a** games you know?

Should be fun to watch it develop.
