Say what now, WHAT? I got smoked by a Honda Civic!

First off shame on you for driving so fast. Those little Civic SI are about 200hp I believe in a light body and the one you encountered may have been tricked out with performance chips etc., so they can move on.
There are still a multitude of cars that will beat them. There is just too much traffic these days to dive fast.
I think thats why some guys buy bass boats so they can fulfill the need for speed. Bass ain't that fast.

 

Well, at least that means that if they crash, they're going to bite it, since they're only surrounded by plastic. No matter what you're driving, that kind of driving isn't safe. I'm someone who passes other cars often, but when you're paying more attention to racing with another car than driving safely, you're putting everyone else at risk. No one cares how fast your car can go, or how fast you can get off the line.

 

Where are the cops?
I drive Nashville's freeways daily and never see any traffic laws being enforced.
Loads of cars with only one person tooling down the HOV lanes during restricted times.
Trucks in the 3rd lane where it says trucks must stay in the right 2 lanes only.
Everybody traveling at excessive speeds.

Some people say they should make talking/texting on cell phones illegal, but what good would that do? They'd put up a sign saying it's illegal, but everyone would ignore it like they do all the other posted signs.

Man, Hoffa just went "You kids get off my lawn!" on us.

I24 sucks due to camping cops that want everyone to drive 70 on the dot.

I got 11 tickets within a year on that stretch. 3 tickets left til suspension, all because they don't think doing 130 to get somewhere quicker is reasonable.
I don't weave in and out. I hit 130 on stretches, then slow to 90 in between. No real dangers for anyone other than my engine.



and Mrs. - they probably actually knew what performance modifications do. I know you want us to ask what you're driving, but it doesn't really matter.

1. Civics are fairly light. Gutting them will make them lighter.
2. Boosting them makes them even faster, especially from a roll.

Your car may be sexy, but apparently it's all show and no go. I'll bite...what kind of car was it?

 

That's amazing, I've never seen any cops camping or writing tickets. I only see them showing up to fill out an accident report.
Your insurance payment is probably equal to a car note.

Well, this was 3 years ago when I had to drive to Nashville daily. So they may not be bad these days.

There were motorcycle cops (gay) that'd hide at the on-ramps and catch people in a little speed-trap that for some unknown reason slowed down to 55mph. It was the widest part of I24 and had the slowest speed limit.

Maybe they've eased up. I sure hope so.
