Before the "momentum shift" what was the score?
Thing is- at least 2 of these terrible ref blunders kept Denver from punting the ball to us...WHILE we had the lead.
How many times you think that happens before a defense decides "Well, we see what's going on here. Why even try?"
NFL players aren't stupid (well, not THAT stupid)... they know when they're being screwed.
Combine that with them not being able to get off the field... it definitely has impact over the next 2 quarters.
I heard that Manning completed more than 40 passes against our secondary. Is that correct?
Before their 64-yard FG?
At that point we were up 21 17, then they made it a 1-point game after the FG
thats when the end began for us
sad part of this was we ALL saw it coming and could do nothing about it. Outscored 41-7
the refs changed the momentum horribly. there is no way we win that game. i yelled and cussed at the tv more than i have in a while. just on the calls. but at the end of the year the broncos will only play one more game than us. they will play 17 games and thats it.
I am going to disagree with you here, the broncos have a very good chance to go far in the playoffs and they will get a first round bye as well. We seem to have a lot of personal fouls in every game, a prime example being pollard getting 2 personal fouls on back to back plays and we lose to san fransisco. The NFL has their rules and we just need to adjust, we haven't adjusted yet and we are getting flagged a lot.
I agree with this statement, but I was wondering why we didn't blitz more. I know it's a double edge sword, but it make more sense to me to lose a game pressuring Peyton than letting him pick us apart 10 to 15 to even 20 yards a pass play! Man I was so frustrated at the fact we didn't blitz much. I do realize when we did blitz, the blocking for the Broncos was stout and we couldn't get through, but I just thought there should have been different defensive formations and trying to disguise the blitz a little more than the Titans did. Just seemed like they stayed in the zone the whole game. I can't count how many times receivers and TE have been open in the middle of the field these past couple of years. Even if we drop back in coverage, we still get beat in the middle of the field.
if you blitz at least you get too hit Goober and test his neck
