For @GoT because of Buck Dharma/Donald Roeser.. Do you remember the Blotto Heavy Metal Head track? Buck has a funny scene..
Man if it weren't for the first riffs on that tune I could dig it more. I'm a huge Buck Dharma fan but the 80's jazz wham riffs starting at around 0:15 are a bit cringeworthy. So many 80's movies scored with that stuff. The rest of the tune is masterful. I bought that record when it was released and remember Black Blade got a good bit of radio play - then was subsequently forgotten from the BOC equation in later years..
When I listen to the radio now the Classic Rock station only plays Godzilla (edited version), Dont Fear the Reaper & Veteran of the Psychic Wars. I have heard nothing else on the air in forever. And by forever I mean last millenium
105.9 is the narrowest classic rock station I've ever heard. Play Devil Went Down to Georgia one more time - cuz once an hour just isn't enough .They also play Copperhead Road about 24 times a day. Occasionally I hear Burning For You. One of the sat radio channels plays Tattoo Vampires a lot. Great tune..
I was always a fan of this one Also did you know they had a album in 2001? it was meh but this song was ok
I gave the newer stuff a listen - but it doesn't have the power sauce of the classics. I do like the Fire of Unknown origin record a lot. The live record they did right after that one featured some songs recorded at a show I was at in South Florida. Bands like that that used to tour thru annually were taken for granted at the time - BOC, Cheap Trick, Ramones etc. It was a god run..
Lots of the older bands do not make good music in their older years. Though Rush's last album Clockwork Angels was surprising good too bad its their last.
