Titans fire VP Lake Dawson

Webster never carried the title as "VP of football operations", what is a VP of personnel and whats a VP of football ops do? The roles will be different from team to team.

Some teams dont even carry a VP of football operations, at least not by that same title.

What Im trying to say is 1, they had different jobs, 2, how does Webster opeate differently than Reinfedlt did? You say Webster was the same at one point to Dawson, maybe not, teams dont disclose how they draft, so we wont ever really know if pre 2012 RW = todays Dawson.

 

I'm still not following you. Webster was VP of Player personnel before he became GM. Lake Dawson was VP of Player personnel before getting canned. Did I misunderstand your premise is that we may have relied upon VP of player personnel in drafting as opposed to other teams relying upon their GM's? I'm not sure why you keep referencing VP of football operations when comparing Dawson when neither nor Webster have served in that position.

I agree we don't know if pre 2012 VP of player personnel had same responsibility as post 2012 but either way- Webster would not be less culpable for our poor personnel situation.
