Quarterback Jake Locker wasn’t perfect Tuesday night at Baptist Sports Park, but he’s ready for his first NFL start according to coach Mike Munchak.

Locker, who will start Friday against the Buccaneers, was 16-of-28 passing, but an overthrow across the middle was intercepted by safety Al Afalava. Locker was also off target on a handful of other throws, though he did some nice work near the goal line, tossing touchdown passes to Marc Mariani and Kendall Wright in the final period of the evening.

Veteran Matt Hasselbeck was 10-of-16 with an interception that linebacker Colin McCarthy would have returned for a touchdown. Hasselbeck ended a well-executed 2-minute drive with a touchdown pass to Lavelle Hawkins. Hasselbeck was 6-of-6 on the drive.

“They’re getting a lot of situational work,” Munchak said. “I thought both of them moved the offense pretty well today.”

Tackle Mike Otto suffered a finger injury on his right hand in Tuesday night’s practice. Otto left the field with a team doctor and did not return. Coach Mike Munchak said Otto’s finger would be examined further.

“We don’t know the extent,” Munchak said. “We’ll have to see how bad that is.”

Cornerback Terrence Wheatley (hamstring), safety Aaron Francisco (soreness), linebacker Gerald McRath (knee), tackle Byron Stingily (ankle), defensive end Dave Ball (concussion) and tight end Brandon Barden (hamstring) did not practice.
