he clearly had zero plan when he fired DD
Jon Gruden for offensive coordinator!
What did he do at Cincy(24-13) that was so special? He inherited a great system and players that Kelly recruited and while the results the last 2 years have been solid they are not what they were when Kelly was there. .
He won 2/3 of his games at Central Mich which is solid. I would not call his stints as an OC stellar.
Geography doesn't matter any longer. His credentials as a coach in Michigan and Ohio would be more suitable for the big ten but other coaches like Saben and Meyer came from outside this part of the country to have massive success. Still would have been nice to interview some coaches with recruiting pipelines in the south.
Solid hire, a huge improvement over Dooley.
Still think that Dykes and Hudspeth should have been the 2 top guys on that list after Strong. They had such a hard on for Gruden they wasted their time with him. Dykes ended up going to Cal.
Hudspeth had a 25-1 record a s a high school coach in Alabama and a 66-21 at North Alabama before going to Louisiana Lafayette where he has been successful in the sun belt conference. . He has a lot of recruiting experience and contacts in the south. He knows a lot of high school coaches out there. I think he could be a great coach in the sec.
Another bad hire.
Not sure what they're thinking in ornge land.
Not the worst hire possible, but still apparent Hart had no plan or his plan blowed up on him
I think they already knocked out "worst hire ever" with Dooley. This might be 2nd worst.
Surely someone better was willing. They should have got Beleima before Arkansas. Not that he'll survive in the SEC.. he cried about Big10 recruiting shenanigans... he'll go insane dealing with the SEC's.
