What's Jake Locker's Destiny?

He's tough. He works hard. He has a strong arm. He makes plays with his feet.

He is also inaccurrate at times, turns over the ball at inopportune times, has been banged up for too much of his college and pro career, and hasn't won a ton at either level.

It scares me that he looks a lot like the guy I saw at Washington 6 years ago.

I think he will have growing pains for a couple of years. But when this game slows down for him I see him being an above average QB. I think with the right players around him he can win the bowl. He has the character and coolness to stay calm in rough situations. He just needs to grow into the shoes that he is wearing now.

He's only under contract for 2 more years. So if he goes through a couple more years of growing pains, it's going to put us in an tough spot when it comes decision time on an extension.

As I said, I like Locker and want him to work out here. But I'm not sure you can give a second contract to a guy that's still going through growing pains 4 years into his pro career (whether it's all his fault or not). Which is why I believe it's imperative to get a quality HC/OC in here ASAP.

You're right on the money. Hopefully his growing pains aren't game losers for us.

Nothing proves how stupid some of the people on this forum are more than guys ragging on Locker for not playing through a cracked freaking shoulder.
