Who Wants Jersey Change?

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by NewHorizans, Jan 11, 2013.

What do you think of new Jerseys?

  1. YES! Lets do something new like the Seahawks

  2. NO! I like what we have now, don't change nothing

  3. I say just go back to Dark Blue Jerseys like when we started in '99

I personally like the helmets (the flame ones), but it just looks too college/CFL. The current logo minus the flames is nice, i'm tired of looking like flaming tacks. Really what throws me off is the light blue jersey, with the white stripes. Just don't see that as a good combo.

I am sure someone talks about this every year, but I have never spoken about it. Plus with it being our 15th year, it would make sense timing wise to make some changes. Obviously we arent changing colors. I honestly love blue alot, I am just ready for new options. We don't have many differences. And as some have mentioned, it would be nice to change the Helmet. I would like a new color as a alternate to use from time to time, like the Chargers have a a light blue and dark blue helmet as well as white like ours. Falcons have a red and black helmet.

I also like the Sword, I think it would be cool to wear a Sword helmet with new color once a twice year or on primetime games. And we could do some more Red into our jerseys. We had come out with those back in 2000 but after the Texans made their own, we never went forward with ours. I feel like every team besides a handful have more options with Jerseys than we do

Who cares about the 15th anything. The 20 year anniversary sure, the 50th anniversary sure, but the 15th?

Sorry, but I don't agree at all. Those flame helmets I designed were inspired by the Philadelphia Eagles. There are no teams in the CFL with helmets like that and the only college teams with similar helmets are also mostly copying the Eagles (or are Michigan).

To each his own. I think many people agree that the flame helmets are a very good way to preserve some Titans tradition, but kill the worst part of the team's current identity (the thumbtack).
    xpmar9x high fives this.

First of all, the Chargers have only white helmets in their current uniform set. Not sure what you are talking about. They had navy in their last uniform set (and never had light blue), but those uniforms are dead.

Second, there is an NFL rule that states that teams are only allowed to have 2 different helmets if one of them is a throwback. Since the Titans have only ever had 1 white helmet, the only way for them to have a 2nd helmet would be if it was an Oilers throwback. Introducing a navy version of a Titans helmet, or something like that, is against NFL rules.

Here's something I schemed up when I was reallllly bored at work using the NCAA Teambuilder. Really not that much different than our current jerseys.

No way. I love the powder blue jerseys. The only thing I'd change is the white helmets. Make those dark blue. Oh, and make the cool sword logo the official one, and lose the flaming thumb tack.

They aren't that bad. If I may offer some constructive criticism:

    1) Choose a shade of blue that the Titans use currently. You went with more of a royal blue. I'd pick either navy or light blue.

    2) You need to add socks to the design. It's screaming for blue socks to balance it out.

    3) The sword-shaped pants stripe works (especially because it mirrors the logo), but a white stripe on white pants doesn't work.

    4) White facemask on a white helmet almost always looks bad. That's why no team in the NFL that wears a white helmet uses a white facemask, even though same color helmet+facemask combos are common in darker colors.

As for the inclusion of red, I just don't think it works as anything more than a logo accent color for the Titans, like how the Steelers have a dash of red in their logo (but nowhere else on their uniforms) or how the 49ers have black in their logo (but, again, nowhere in their uniforms). But I'm willing to concede that someone could do a Titans concept with red that looked good.
