I hear all this talk about an identity and how the Titans are a "run first" team, but the fact is they are not. The running game with few exceptions has been totally ineffective. The Chargers and Jets game, our two most notable victories this year were a result of a good passing attacks after the run game failed. The loss to KC where we had 1st and goal at the 1 and couldn't run it in should have been proof enough that we are not a running team.

I believe our receivers can be more effective at their respective positions than our running backs are at theirs. In the Jags game we rushed 26 times for 83 yds. We passed 24 times for 293 yds. Why keep running the ball? Our running backs averaged less than 2.5 yds/carry last week (CJ and Greene). Fitz and Locker had better running stats than CJ.

I don't recall seeing a 5 receiver set or a two TE set so far this season. If we are up against a 3-4 defense, we never run outside, only up the middle.

Maybe if we come out passing, make the defense defend the middle of the field more, we can have a more effective running game.

In today's NFL, it's not like the rules favor a running game.

The Titans are only a run-first team because they haven't had a decent QB in about a decade. As soon as this team gets a real franchise QB, that will change.

Our running game will excel if we start throwing the ball around more and quit being so predictable on 1st and 2nd down.

I stated this in a previous post, I don't care that the Titans are run first. Its not THAT you pass, its about when you pass. Be run first if you want, but don't give us two runs that set us up in 3 rd and 7. Give me a high percentage pass on 1st down to give me 2nd and 3. That's what I wanna see.

If only we could do that! Seems so simple in theory. Too bad Loggains sucks!
