We have over 38 million tied up to our TE's....Its not that much of a difference

Cook himself is getting 35 mil, how is that not much of a difference? I rather have a good trio of TE's that can block and catch rather than pay one guy a ton of money who is one dimensional and lines up in the slot more than the traditional TE spot.

Or maybe cause Cook can't block worth a crap? Defenses knew exactly what we were doing because Cook is so one dimensional.

Walker, again, one of the best blocking TE's and can contribute in the passing game as well. Stevens, another great blocker, is a very reliable TE in short yardage. Thompson, no one really knows where he's at, but has shown to be a good blocker so far and still getting used to the TE position in the passing game. If he continues to develop then we'll have a do it all swiss army knife guy in Walker, a very good blocker and reliable receiver in Stevens, and a crazy athletic and match up nightmare with Thompson who can also block.

It's apparent that bringing in Walker and now Greene that we're going to pound the ball a bit more this year so instead of spending money on Cook, we're getting a guy that can actually help the run game and have a nice trio of TE's that can do anything we ask them to without tipping the defense off. This makes our offense more dynamic and dangerous.

Go to a fantasy football forum or somethin dude...this is football..we did the same a few years back...brought in football players...Hope,Thorton,Mawae,Givens...And the funny thing Givens was the worst all others were football players...I read Walker ran a 4.5 compared to cook and his 4.49...He said he had some drops cause he was workin on his blockin and wasnt asked to catch much...Obviously in that offense and havin frnk gore and V Davis..But he also said that it was the 1st time he ever had some drops in his career and he wasnt makin excuses, but it was jus a lack of focus and he will definately correct it...So enough of 1 year he had some drops...the dude will b Frank Wychek for us a true H-Back with speed

What does that say about their faith in Locker!?!?

A year ago they were all saying how they were evloving to pass first team cause thats what all the best teams in the NFL use now a days!?! Oh its funny how one year can change an entire scheme lol!

Exactly cause they fired the OC and brought in a new TE's coach the same 1 Frank had so yes they r changing the offense.

Locker is still developing. A young developing QB's best friend is a running game. The top teams last year had effective ground games so I don't think it is so much a scheme change rather than we need an effective #2 and want to improve our running games effectiveness but more so consistency. From the looks of it we have certainly done so on paper. Not sure how improving our run game sets an alarm off of a complete scheme change overhaul.

The only reason our scheme will look different is we have a new OC.

It just looks like were going back to trying to manage games again by pounding the football. Which I'm all for b/c thats the only way this entire organization knows how to win!

It has nothing to do with their faith in Locker, the team's faith in Locker is there because we haven't brought in another QB and we haven't been rumored around drafting one early. We didn't have a true #2 back which hurt us badly on offense (especially short yardage), we also had a bad run game for most of the season because our OL was trash and the only TE we trusted enough for the majority of the games to be in there during running plays was Craig Stevens. We've become more dynamic, versatile, and with the addition of these 2 guys it helps Locker out even more. If anything, we're giving Locker more to work with. Which is why we were going after Welker and Amendola.
