Will This Offense Abandon The Run Game If It Continues To Be An Issue?

Was wondering if we would open up our passing game if the run game continues to be a problem. The offensive coordinator here really does need to get a little more creative with the playbook. We certainly don't need to continue running C.J. into a brick wall of defenders over and over again because the results won't change. The only thing that really bothers me is we will lose games if Loggains continues to live and die by the run game if it is clear its not working.

We need to trust Jake Locker and let him throw the ball more after all we have a decent group of receiving talent Wright,Washington,Williams,Hunter and of course Britt if he ever breaks out of his slump. We also have Walker and Stevens at tight end.I definitely think Jake Locker has improved in the passing game this season.

So far this season Jake Locker has thrown 8 TD's and only 1INT so he can definitely be trusted in the passing game if the O coordinator here will give him the chance. It really hurt our momentum when Locker got hurt but just because Fitzpatrick can't be trusted they shouldn't be scared to open the passing game up with Jake Locker because he does makes better decisions.

My only complaints would be with Loggains would be to get more creative with the playbook. We definitely won't get anywhere with the run-run-pass that Fisher ran the whole time he was here.We could do much more than what we are doing with this offense this season. He definitely should create more plays for C.J. in the open field because he can be a good weapon if we use him more creatively.I do think Locker could be used more as well if Loggains would do more with the offense.

If we can't get results out of C.J.,Greene and Battle in the run game then we need to try and throw the ball and not wait three quarters when we are down to start trying to pass the ball all at once.Sure we have faced some of the best defenses in the entire league in the first half of the season but it will be interesting to see what happens if there continues to be issues with the run game.

This offensive line should be playing much better than they are so far this season. Not sure what the problems are but this line was touted as one of the strengths we had going into this season but that has not been the case. For one i think a lot of it has to do with Turner and Stewart mostly. We have now gotten Schwenke in there at center so maybe things will improve some.I do think we will be replacing Stewart after this season. He is getting to old and his contract will be huge not to mention his play has dropped. They need to think about replacing him in the lineup if he doesn't start playing better.I also wonder if they need to start holding Matthews accountable after all its his unit.

Overall i do think this team can be much better.I think we have some really good players. In my opinion some of the weaknesses on this team comes from the coaching.Of course Gregg Williams is doing a good job on defense but there are other areas that need improving. The special teams here has not been good so the coaching could be better there.Of course we could always do better in the coordinator dept. as far as the offense is concerned especially with the line.

They need to use the pass to set up the run... not try the other way around.

teams expect us to run and we need to open up our offense and this is where loggains needs to do his dam job. I am tired of seeing runs up the gut, it does not work and by the time we adjust to the defense it is very late in the game. We need to be more aggressive and let Jake completely take over this offense. We started out the season by trying to be a running team first but we will end up being a passing team first by the end of the season and I have no problem with that but we need to adjust.

This isn't the Saints. To abandon the run is to abandon a chance to win games.

The best thing we can do is not telegraph what we're doing to the defense. If we're in shotgun we're throwing and if we're under center we're going to run. It's pretty much that simple.

We threw the ball 41 times and had 10 designed runs. What makes you think we're not adjusting? Should we run less than 10 times per game?

Honestly :cj: is not a ground and pound back...we need Greene for that! Greene can pick up those short yards unlike cj.

It was an adjustment, no one said it was a good adjustment.
