Yes, with "a low" meaning that someone hand timed him at 4.26 Likely his speed coach or agent.

It didn't say, but he still ran a flat 4.3 at a pro day. Not a guy you would call slow.

No doubt. I sure wouldn't say he's slow.

guys jason is fast..and verner is quick..hes not fast, but hes quick. You think any guy who anticipates plays can make them happen just like that, right? YEAH RIGHT.

He reacts very quickly, specially in limited space

First of all Verner isn't slow. His 40 time is 4.52 which isn't blazing but adequate. He tied for the 2nd fastest 3 Cone (with Devin McCourty) the year he came out. He also had a respectable 20 yard shuttle. So he is "quick". His 10 yd an 20 yd splits are comparable to guys who run low 4.4 40s. It isn't like he is a slow poke.

Jason McCourty was an absolute steal in the 6th round. His 3 cone was faster than Verner's and he ran 4.3. He is one of the fastest CBs in the NFL and almost 6' tall. They need to lock this kid up. Also a very good tackler.

Tommy Campbell has the same kind of speed at 6'3.

Griffin had great speed for a S (sub 4.5) and his 3 cone and shuttel times were as fast as the best CBs.

Incidently, Robert Johnson's 3 cone and shuttle times were outstanding for a guy 6'2. His 3 cone at his pro day was 6.56. Compare that to Harrison Smith who had the best time for a S at the combine this year at 6.63. His 20 yd shuttle would have tied him for 3rd best and again the same as Smith's. Oddly enough his recorded 40 time, 4.58, was also the same as Smith's (a first round pick).

3 cone and shuttle represent burst quickness and ability to change direction quickly. Very critical traits for a DB. You can have Bolt like speed (which McCourty and Campbell almost have for 40 yards) but if you can't change direction you won't be a good DB.
